Kendall Toyota of Fairbanks has an immediate opening for a Service Advisor.
DUTIES/ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
Interface with customers and service technicians to identify and sell vehicle repairs and maintenance.
Determine need for repairs and maintenance by vehicle inspection and questioning customer, and by researching service history and computer information.
Verify that work is properly diagnosed and performed.
Input and maintain vehicle and customer information in computer system.
Communicate with customers in a professional and timely manner with updates of vehicle repire status and costs.
Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently in an efficient and organized manner.
Work calmly and efficiently under pressure, and with persons who are frustrated.
Use telephone, Email and other means to communicate with customers and vendors.
Maintain professional appearance of work area.
Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
Candidate must have superior verbal communication skills and excellent customer service skills. 2-3 years service writing experience preferred. Knowledge of automobile repair and maintenance and the ability to operate many makes, models and types of vehicles, both manual and automatic often within restricted areas is required. Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Works primarily indoors. Occasional work outdoors, which is exposed to ambient heat and cold, and to sun, rain and other weather conditions. Some of indoors work is in a shop environment, with exposure to fumes, dust and elevated sound levels.
Frequent telephone use.
May spend greater than 3/4 of work shift with PCs and video display screens.
Standing/walking short distances: up to 3/4 of work shift on hard and soft surfaces.
Lifting: rarely, up to 40 pounds.
Carrying: rarely, up to 40 pounds, for up to 200 feet.
Hearing and speech capability adequate to converse with clients and other employees in person and by telephone.
Sight adequate to locate and identify vehicles and other employees, and to use proprietary computer software.
