Kendall Toyota/Subaru/Honda of Fairbanks has an immediate opening for a full time Line Technician. Kendall pays top flat rate for the region!

2-3 years previous mechanical and line tech experience at a dealership or large independent shop required. Current ASE certifications a plus. Must have ability to operate a wide variety of vehicles both automatic and manual transmissions. Driver License and good driving record required.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS:
Inspect vehicles, diagnose problems, perform adjustments and calibrations, replenish fluids, disassemble and reassemble vehicle components, repair and replace parts.
Identify additional work required.
Road test vehicles for diagnosis and repair verification.
Use independent judgment to make decisions requiring the application of procedures and practices to specific work situations.
Document work and hours per manufacturer and/or company policies. Additional tasks as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Uses: General mechanic's hand and power tools, specialty tools and other powered equipment that produces significant vibration and forces.
Standing/walking for short distances: up to entire work shift on hard surfaces.
Sitting: Up to 1/4 of work shift including in vehicles.
Carrying: frequently, up to 20 pounds for up to 200 feet; occasionally, up to 50 pounds for up to 20 feet.
Lifting: occasionally, up 50 pounds; rarely, up to 100 pounds.
Pushing/pulling: occasionally, up to 50 pounds force.
Bending and twisting: occasionally, to access all areas and parts of vehicles.
Squatting/kneeling: occasionally, on hard and soft surfaces.
Climbing: occasionally, ladders to six feet.
Reaching above shoulder height: occasionally.
Hearing capability adequate to interpret vehicle noises for diagnosis and proper operation.
Sight adequate to perform duties, operate vehicles, identify shop conditions and hazards, and view computer screen.
